抄録

The purpose of this chapter is to describe the implementation of the ICF-CY (WHO, 2007) in special needs education (SNE) in Japan. This chapter will provide: 1) an overview of the current status of education for students with disabilities and the use of ICF/ICF-CY in Japan, 2) a description of findings of a survey of Japanese teachers on their perspectives about the ICF (WHO, 2001) and ICF-CY in special needs education, 3) some illustrations of the use ICF/ICF-CY for SNE practice, 4) application of an ICF-CY core set of codes and an digital tool for SNE settings in Japan and 5) the challenge: the use of ICF-CY in consideration of reasonable accommodations.
