抄録

Slot grinding experiments are carried out using a dicing machine in order to clarify the influence of wheel wear on the generation of ground groove and edge-chipping of ferrite. The changes in kerf width, edge-chipping size and the wheel wear with the increase of grinding length are measured in detail. The thickness of grinding wheel decreases with the increase of grinding length. Edge-chipping size and kerf width decrease at first, however they increase when serious wear occurs on grinding wheel. It seems that the serious wear of grinding wheel makes an increase of deflection of grinding wheel and it causes an increase in kerf width and edge-chipping size.
