Abstract
"Invasion" in adenocarcinoma of the lung has been defined in the 8th TNM classification of the lung tumors, and the tumor size as pT is to be evaluated by the invasive size. Furthermore, cT is also to be evaluated by diameter of consolidation (the size without ground glass opacity area) on lung window setting that is thought to be correlated with invasive size. This revision brought higher correlation between T (c and p) and the tumor invasiveness or progression than that of before. In this review article, I would like to clarify the benefits and problems awaiting solution in regards to the new revised 8th TNM classification of the lung tumors.
