Abstract

Low intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) and pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF) have been applied for fracture treatment as adjuvant and/or alternative therapy. Most randomized control trials and cohort study with large numbers of participants showed the effectiveness of these devices for fresh tibial shaft fracture and tibial nonunions in the point of accelerating fracture healing.
