Abstract

Here, we present a combination technique of lower lid blepharoplasty for inferior orbital deformity, transconjunctival fat removal, and hyaluronic acid filler injection. The biggest advantage of this technique is shortened downtime. A shorter downtime may make it easier for patients to undergo surgical treatment. Because this combination method consists of two conflicting steps (fat removal and filler injection), it can effectively improve the preoperative conflicting conditions of bulge and decompression in the lower eyelid region and create the so-called continuous beautiful ogee curve. However, despite its ease of use, the hyaluronic acid filler injection has been reported to cause rare but critical complications such as eyesight loss and cerebral infarction. Therefore, to reduce the risk of these complications, we must be familiar with the anatomy of the lower eyelid region and the injection methods.
