Abstract
The efficacy and safety of cefozopran, an injectable cephem antibiotic, were investigated in 5 patients with sepsis accompanying hematological diseases. The clinical effect was good in 2, poor in 1, and unknown in 2 patients. With regard to the bacteriological effects, all 5 strains detected from the 5 patients were eliminated with the drug. As a side effect, ALP was elevated in 2 patients. From these results, this antibiotic was considered useful for sepsis accompanying hematological disease.
