Abstract
The clinical application of 99mTc-sestamibi, 99mTc-tetrofosmin, 123I-BMIPP (15-(p-iodo-phenyl)-3-(R,S)-methyl-pentadecanoic acid), and 123I-MIBG (Metaiodoguanisine) myocardial scintigraphy is documented in this article. 99mTc-sestamibi and 99mTc-tetrofosmin scintigraphy represent myocardial perfusion and 123I-BMIPP and 123I-MIBG represent myocardial fatty acid metabolism and sympathetic nerve activity. Each scintigraphy provides much useful information on patients with cardiac disorders. Sufficient knowledge of these methods leads to appropriate applications of myocardial scintigraphy.
