Abstract

In Japan, classical "domestic violence" meant resistant action of children to their parents. Recently, however, this term means all kinds of violence done in the family, including violence between husband and wife, child abuse by parents, and abuse of the aged. We have often encountered cases of domestic violence resulting in mayhem. Moreover, violent actions by children often result in impulsive murder. Most violent actions by children are the result of complicated relations within the family, such as violence between parents and abuse of children by the parents. Physicians have not only to treat the patients but also to manage these complicated human relations, if consulted by victims of any type of domestic violence. We report here a case of multiple trauma with hemorrhagic shock due to domestic violence, and discuss not only the clinical course of the patient but also our social management of him.
